Another winner yesterday and it was not smooth sailing early but the Dodgers offense came alive to dominate. Monday we look to continue our success on MLB play of the days which is something we are used to with over $200k in profit I'm my career for $1k bettors. We also won't be playing Monday night football so this will be it!


It seems like just yesterday I was facing Charlie Morton in high school baseball and now he’s finally pitching in a playoff game. Unfortunately for Morton he has to face the Cardinals. He’s pitched effectively against almost every other opponent except the Cardinals. Morton has relied on a ton of ground balls and leaving guys on base to get to where he is right now but facing the Cardinals who were the best this season with runners on is going to be an issue. Morton has a 7.90 ERA in two poor starts vs. the Cardinals this year and a 4.91 ERA in his 8 previous dating back 3 years. Morton has never pitched well during day starts (5.55 last 3 years) and has a 4.81 ERA in his 7 day starts this year. Morton also has to face a team on life support. The Cardinals hit the ball on Sunday but could not get the timely hit which was something they were able to do all year long. Facing Morton will clearly help as they have dominated RHP and over 153 AB have a .359 average and a .932 OPS against Morton. Beltran is 6-15, Holliday 8-25, Jay 8-16, Molina 8-19, Carpenter 3-8. They have a really good idea on what they are doing at the plate against Morton with a .441 OBP and they should get the early lead.

The Cardinals will send out 22 year old Michael Wacha to the mound who was pitching for Texas A&M just 15 months ago. Wacha is what I’d like to call a power pitcher averaging over 93 mph on his fast ball and mixing in a nasty curve and a change up. He is supposed to be the better prospect than Shelby Miller and is drawing comparisons to Adam Wainwright. At 6-6 he is a bit intimidating to opposing hitters and has better control for a guy that is only 22. In 30 AB against him the Pirates have just 3 hits and a .310 OPS. He threw 7 shutout innings at home in a 9-2 win at home. Of course it’s a risk backing a 22 year old in this spot and I would normally not take that risk, but we are talking about the Cardinals here. They pretty much breed quality starting pitching and Wacha is going to go into this game with a great game plan and a ton of confidence as is the Cardinal way.
